CHANGE 114

We actually need a part 3 for last week’s topic. (I know, bonkers, there’d never even been a part 2 before & already a part 3). So peace reigned in our family for 6 days. The kids weren’t just not fighting, they were being lovely & kind – it was wonderful & the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Then it went wrong on Sat & every agreement got broken. This meant that the planned weekly follow up meeting the next day couldn’t just focus on ‘what went well’ but also had to cover ‘what went wrong’. Only I was still annoyed about the previous evening. So part 3 is a note to self (coaches are human too) & anyone else: DO NOT ATTEMPT A FAMILY / COUPLE MEETING WHILE STILL ANGRY. It wasn’t conducive to a productive meeting & too much blame came in – I hold myself responsible. But onwards and upwards, we learn as we go, and if you give the meetings a go I’d love to hear how you get on (in comments or msg). They do work … just not so well when people are angry! Good luck.
