Happy New Year folks. So how was the festive season – did you survive? Whether things have been a bit fraught or not 1st Jan is a good time for a detox. And while we’re upping our veg & restraining from the Gin, let’s also carry out some detoxing in our relationships. A quick reminder that the 4 relationship communication Toxins are criticism / blame, defensiveness, stonewalling (sulking, not engaging etc) & contempt (mean sarcasm, eye rolling, belittling). So cut all those out. And similar to how we add healthy fruit & veg back in, we need to add back in the good stuff that helps our relationships to thrive: acknowledging & appreciating others, acts of kindness, having fun together, managing our own moods & emotions etc. As ever these apply to all our relationships – friends, kids, work colleagues etc. More details as we go through the month but that’s just to get you started on 1st Jan. (I did mean to post this morning but have only just crawled out of bed – whoever suggested Gin as a strategy for the festivities was wrong!!). Please like/share.
